TREATMENTS
At Maine Healing Arts, we believe that treatment is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Drawing from a wide range of therapeutic traditions and techniques, we address pain, support injury recovery, and restore ease of movement. With decades of experience and a broad referral network, wherever you are in your health journey—working through something specific or simply looking for guidance—we offer the time, attention, and space to help you find your way back to yourself.
Please note that not all treatments are available with each therapist. Some treatments are performed fully clothed—please wear loose, comfortable clothing for these, as noted in the treatment description. All other treatments are performed on a massage table, unclothed and draped.
Thai massage & bodywork

Rooted in Traditional Thai Medicine, Thai massage & bodywork tends to be physically intensive in a way that can break barriers and make space in the tissue, facilitating your body's natural healing processes. Pressure ranges from deep to gentle, tailored to your body's needs. You do not need to be flexible to receive Thai bodywork—this practice is a great way to help you explore your mobility and flexibility.

At Maine Healing Arts, sessions are practiced on a floor mat and may include massage, passive and active stretching, deep compression, tapotement, range of motion, vibration, traction, cupping, scraping, warm herbal compresses, and various liniments, balms, and oils, depending on your individual needs.

Please wear loose-fitting cotton clothing (no shorts or skirts) in layers, as the body temperature may fluctuate during treatment. Wearing clothing during Thai bodywork protects your skin, enables deep stretching techniques without the need for draping, and allows for more effective tissue treatment.

table massage
Integrative therapeutic massage provides pain relief, supports injury recovery, and aids in calming the nervous system, fostering relaxation for both the mind and the body, using myofascial, Swedish, and deep tissue neuromuscular techniques.
90 minutes | $150 - 2 hours | $200

the balanced body
The Balanced Body is a full-body treatment that works through the layers—hot towels and warm, earthy aromatherapy oils soften the skin, myofascial and deep tissue soften and unwind the connective tissue, and integrated stretching and Thai bodywork techniques open the joints and lengthen the muscles leaving you feeling balanced, warm, fluid, and at ease.

the slow down
The Slow Down is a deeply restorative treatment combining craniosacral therapy and Reiki energy work to quiet the nervous system and invite the body’s natural healing response. In-depth work on the head and neck releases tension, helps drain the sinuses, and relieves eye strain; followed by warm aromatherapy towels and nourishing oils massaged into the hands and feet. Full-body passive stretching and traction gently realign the body from head to toe. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.

add-ons
*add-ons may be incorporated into any session; please request them in advance, as some require additional preparation.
cranial sacral therapy (CST)
Using a gentle touch primarily on the head and face, the manual techniques used in CST allow the body to initiate self-healing from the inside out, facilitating self-correction in a safe, calming environment. Treatment works with the body's cranial-sacral system, releasing restrictions, which have been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, and circulatory. By facilitating the body's natural and innate healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster disease resistance and is beneficial for people seeking help with a wide range of healthcare challenges and symptoms.
abdominal massage
A typical session includes warm compresses and gentle soft tissue and deep tissue massage directly on the abdomen, using oils and herbs—please wear clothing that can get dirty. Abdominal massage is well-suited for low back pain, low energy, and digestive issues, and can help relieve menstrual pain (though it is not appropriate to receive during menstruation). Many people leave feeling a release of emotional energy, improved digestion, and an overall sense of calm and groundedness.
reiki
Developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, Reiki channels universal energy through gentle touch to reduce stress, ease pain, improve mental clarity, and promote a deep sense of inner peace.

foot massage
Your feet are your body’s foundation—governing your posture, your balance, and the ease with which you move through the world. They contain thousands of nerve endings and bear the full weight of your body, and when they are under strain, that strain travels upward into your knees, hips, and back.

In-depth foot massage works deeply into this foundation—easing both everyday strain and chronic pain using warm towels and nourishing oils, targeting tendons, fascia, muscles, and joints, while improving mobility, stiffness, and releasing built-up tension.
